Welcome to The Salty Snapper, a big, beautiful home tucked away in the peaceful seaside village of Rhyll on Phillip Island.
This is not your average holiday house. It’s a place designed for people to come together, spread out, slow down and enjoy being on holiday.
With six bedrooms, four bathrooms and multiple living spaces all on one level, there’s room for up to 14 guests without everyone having to be in the same room at the same time.
Want to gather around the long dining table for dinner? …..There’s room.
Want the kids to disappear into the games room? …..Perfect.
Want to curl up somewhere quiet with a book while everyone else is doing their thing? .....There’s a spot for that, too.
And when the day is done, there’s nothing quite like coming home, lighting the fire, pouring a drink and settling into your own little corner of the island.

We love beautiful things, so you'll find artwork, timber, natural textures and carefully chosen pieces throughout the house. It’s fresh and stylish without feeling precious.

The Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen is made for big groups. There’s a generous kitchen with quality appliances, plenty of bench space and a long timber dining table that becomes the natural gathering point of the house.
Whether you're cooking a big family breakfast, putting together a lazy lunch after the beach or settling in for a long dinner with friends, there’s space to do it without everyone getting under each other's feet.
Room to Spread Out
With multiple living areas, everyone can find their own space.
There’s room for conversation, quiet time, movie nights, reading, relaxing and everything in between. The house works beautifully for extended families and groups of friends because being together doesn't have to mean being on top of each other. Foxtel with movies and sport packages are available on both large TVs found in the living rooms.

The Games Shed
Inside you'll find a pool table, table tennis and a classic arcade machine with 1200 games. These games will take you back to your childhood and you can certainly share your memories with the kids.
It's the kind of open space where the kids disappear for hours. And then you realise the adults have disappeared too. Fair warning: competitive table tennis or pacman may become a thing.

Outside
The backyard is made for island living. There's plenty of room for the kids to run around, outdoor dining for long lunches and dinners, a BBQ for easy holiday cooking and an outdoor shower for rinsing off sandy feet after a day at the beach. There is even a golf putting green.
The outdoor spaces flow naturally from the house, making it easy to spend the day moving between inside and out.

All Year Comfort
The Salty Snapper is designed to be enjoyed in every season. There's ducted heating and refrigerated air conditioning throughout the house, along with a log fire in the main living area for those cooler island evenings. We’ve even taken care of the common complaints about the local water quality and taste. At The Salty Snapper, all water accessed within and around the house is filtered, clean and yum.

WHY RHYLL?
If you know Phillip Island, you'll know that Rhyll is a little different. It's quieter. Slower. And wonderfully relaxed.
The village sits on the north east side of Phillip Island, surrounded by coastline, walking tracks, bike tracks, wildlife and beautiful natural spaces.
It's the sort of place where you can head out for a morning walk, wander down the end of the court to the path that leads you to the water, throw a line in without the crowds, grab a coffee, enjoy a glass of vino or beer at the Rhyll Taven, feed the kids at the best fish and chip shop on the Island (Tydes), have a game of tennis and then come back to the peace and privacy of your own house. All walking distance.
When you stay at Rhyll, you're still close to everything Phillip Island is famous for, including beaches, wildlife, the Penguin Parade, Amazing Things, Koala Park, Ten Pin Bowling, Indoor Rock Climbing, the Grand Prix Circuit, local attractions, cafes and restaurants.
But when you return to The Salty Snapper, the holiday really begins.

It's long lunches. Bare feet. Kids laughing in the games room. A glass of wine while the sun goes down under the vines. A morning coffee before everyone else wakes up. A few competitive games of pool. And those conversations that somehow only happen when you're away from home.

The Salty Snapper is yours for the duration of your stay. You'll have exclusive access to the house, backyard, outdoor areas and games room. The garage is not available for guest use, however there is off street parking for two cars side by side directly in front of the garage. There is also extra parking down the court.
We'll provide everything you need for an easy arrival, including check in instructions and access details before your stay. And if you need us during your visit, we're only a message away.
I wont be available in person but I will be sure to respond quickly to any query you may have and in most cases be able to assist with personnel who are moments away.
GUEST GUIDELINES, CODE OF CONDUCT & INFORMATION
To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.
STRICTLY NO SCHOOLIES OR GROUPS UNDER 25 YEARS OF AGE. (With the exception of children accompanied by parents).
STRICTLY NO HENS OR BUCKS NIGHTS PERMITTED.
PLEASE NOTE:
There is a strict NO PARTY policy. The house is located in a residential area and noise and public disturbances will not be tolerated. Guests will be asked to leave the premises without notice should noise or nuisance complaints be received or if the number of guests exceeds the number confirmed at time of booking.
Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly the tariff rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this will result in loss of your bond and/or additional payments. Disturbance to our neighbours, including excessive noise, is prohibited and will result in termination of rental and/or loss of bond.
Between 10.30pm and 8am noise levels must not disturb neighbours. EPA enforced neighbourhood quiet hours are from 10.30pm - 8am.
At any time there is to be NO LOUD aggressive behaviour, yelling, screaming and or arguing etc.
Excess vehicles are not permitted, general ratio is one car per every two people maximum. Boats, jetski's, caravans may be permitted but must be mentioned at the time of confirmation.
No smoking inside the house.
These aren't here to take the fun out of your stay. They're simply what allows us to keep The Salty Snapper a beautiful place for our guests and a good neighbour in our little Rhyll community.
