Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Location beautiful and very peaceful. 5 minutes drive into Beynac. Sitting/dining room spacious and cool. Beds comfortable. Air/conditioning in bedroom effective - when working. Pool, garden and terrace a bonus.

Negative: No basic welcome pack (tea, coffee, milk, biscuits) on arrival. An horrendous storm on second day cut off electricity and internet for nearly 2 days. No air conditioning during a heatwave was very unpleasant. Heavy tree branches came down in the garden, into the pool and across the road to Beynac. Although this was not the owners’ fault, we were shocked they didn’t contact us with advice or help. There were no candles, torches or fire extinguisher. Water came into the house and ran down some electric fittings. However, when we contacted them after 36 hours, we were offered alternative accommodation, though not as good. Fortunately power was eventually restored so we stayed in Maison Linol. Basic cleaning equipment was missing, like washing up bowl, sponge and tea towels. No brush and dustpan. Long brush and mop were ancient and disgusting. Frying pans and some kitchen utensils were dirty. Fridge had been properly cleaned on arrival.
